Dog Days and Hot Fish

It’s that time of year and the forest is drying out, the Tiger Lilly’s have withered and the Dogwoods are prepping for Spring. The water has been a bit off-color below the lake - possibly due to some silt coming in in upper waters below Mud Creek. The key right now is to cover water (and stay hydrated, ‘cuz it’s hot!) and set on anything that moves your fly, indicator/bobber, or fly line. The bites can be small and make you question everything. We worked hard for the fish we got but they lived up to their McCloud lore. Speed demons that are masters at hook removal and can offer of some aerial displays up and down the river.
